The Cost of Choice.
Every decision has a receipt. Most of us don't read it until later.
Stories about the decisions that shape our money, our purpose, and our legacy — told slowly, honestly, and all the way to the end, where the real price finally shows up.
Nobody tells you the price at the moment you decide.
We talk about decisions like they're math — pros, cons, upside, risk. But the bill arrives years later, in a currency you weren't tracking: a marriage, a friendship, a calling you set down, a version of yourself you never got to become.
The Cost of Choice follows single decisions all the way through. The offer someone took. The business someone closed while it was still working. The debt someone forgave. The move that looked reckless and turned out to be obedience. No verdicts — just the whole story, and the cost stated plainly.
Chazon is the Hebrew word for vision: seeing further than the room you're standing in. That's what this podcast trains. Not smarter hacks — longer sight.
Money. Purpose. Legacy.
Money
The number on the contract, the loan nobody talks about, the raise that cost more than it paid. Stewardship told as story, not spreadsheet.
Purpose
The yes that closed three other doors. Calling, timing, and the quiet arithmetic of what you give up to do the thing you were made for.
Legacy
What outlives the decision. Children, teams, institutions, and reputations formed by choices made decades before anyone noticed.
How each episode is built.
- 1
The fork
One person, one moment, two roads. We set the scene before anyone knows how it ends.
- 2
The reasoning
What they believed, what they feared, and what they were told — the logic that made the choice feel obvious.
- 3
The bill
What it actually cost. Named in full, without softening it into a lesson too early.
- 4
The vision
What they can see now that they couldn't see then — and the question it leaves for the listener standing at their own fork.

Questions about the show
What is The Cost of Choice?
The Cost of Choice is the Chazon podcast hosted by S. N. Perkins — stories about the decisions that shape our money, our purpose, and the legacy we leave behind. Every episode follows one choice all the way to what it actually cost.
Who is the host?
S. N. Perkins hosts and narrates the show under the Chazon banner inside the After :Sundays™ network.
Is this a personal finance podcast?
Money is one of the three threads, but this is not a tips-and-hacks show. We tell the story behind the decision — why someone took the offer, sold the house, closed the business, forgave the debt — and what it produced years later.
What does Chazon mean?
Chazon is the Hebrew word for vision — the ability to see further than the moment you're standing in. Every choice is a bet on a future you can't fully see yet, which is exactly what this show examines.
Who is it for?
Builders, founders, parents, and anyone standing at a fork: a job offer, a move, a partnership, a number on a contract. It's for people who want to make the decision with their eyes open.
When do new episodes release?
Episodes publish weekly once the feed is live. The podcast feed is being finalized now — get on the list and the first stories will land in your app the day they drop.
